Khao Laem National Park is home to the highest peak within the Khao Laem National Park, Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province, where the top of this peak resembles the hump on a cow's back, which is called "Hump" or "Nok", hence the origin of the name Khao San Nok Wa.

By car
Drive from Bangkok to Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province, a distance of about 130 kilometers, takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, using the Phetkasem Road or the Pin Klao-Nakhon Chai Si Road, passing through Nakhon Pathom Province - Ban Pong, Ratchaburi Province, to Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province, then continue on to Thong Pha Phum District along Highway 323 from Thong Pha Phum District, turn right to Sangkhla Buri District, the location of Khao Laem National Park, at 39-40 kilometers.
By train
State Railway of Thailand operates train services from Bangkok Noi Railway Station twice a day at 07.45 and 13.45, with stops at Kanchanaburi Railway Station and Nam Tok Station (near Sai Yok Noi Waterfall). The fare is 39 baht. For more information, call 0-2411-3102
